A proposed chemical dependency treatment program is requesting to operate at 15812 E. Indiana Ave. in Spokane Valley. Two public hearings are scheduled to take in comments regarding the program that would serve people who are dependent on opiates, such as heroin and the pain medication OxyContin. Representatives from the Department of Social and Health Services will be on hand to present more information and take comment. The treatment program also includes medication, case management, therapeutic treatment and medical oversight.

Expected growth in Spokane Valley is one reason Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU) will be starting ground-breaking at their new branch near University High School this Thursday at 10 a.m. Their new location at 13211 E. 32nd is scheduled to open later this year and will be the second branch in Spokane Valley and their 15th for the credit union.
