A women needs suitable, respectable clothes when interviewing for a job. But, how do you pay for those suitable, respectable clothes if they don't have job to pay for it? It's a two edge sword really.

That's why the Inland Northwest Health Services Foundation is giving women looking to enter the workforce a leg up. It's hosting the 8th Annual Wardrobes for Women Event.

Proposed Treatment Program Taking Public Comment

A proposed chemical dependency treatment program is requesting to operate at 15812 E. Indiana Ave. in Spokane Valley. Two public hearings are scheduled to take in comments regarding the program that would serve people who are dependent on opiates, such as heroin and the pain medication OxyContin. Representatives from the Department of Social and Health Services will be on hand to present more information and take comment. The treatment program also includes medication, case management, therapeutic treatment and medical oversight.

The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, or SCRAPS, is so overwhelmed with cats and dogs, they need your help. The animal shelter received 23 animals Tuesday, many of them had ran away from their homes because of the Fourth of July fireworks. Some had to be transferred to a rescue facility on the west side of the state to make room in the Scraps facility. Scraps is offering a special on adult cats all week thru Saturday. Licenses are 15 dollars.
