Rep. Inslee To Visit Spokane In Governor's Race

U-S Representative Jay Inslee is planning a trip to Spokane announce his candidacy in the race for governor. Inslee will launch his campaign Monday in Seattle, followed by a second event in the Yakima Valley town of Wapato. His advisors say he'll make stops in Spokane, Tacoma and Vancouver on Tuesday. Inslee has spent more than a decade in Congress.

Team St. Lukes continues to bring about their best when competing. Austin, Chelsea and Kristen have all made National standards which puts them into the Paralympic system and allows them to receive some support and opens up more opportunities/invitations for other events and camps. The athletes that have hit London standards, help get the US slots for London (Amber, Chelsea, Austin, and Kristen).

Effective July 1, All State Liquor Stores To Have Uniform, Expanded Operating Hours
Effective July 1, all state liquor stores will have the same hours of operation.* All state stores will also be open additional hours for added convenience. The WSLCB received funding in the state budget to standardize state store hours. Standardized hours are projected to generate nearly $800,000 in additional revenue during the 2011-13 Biennium. Currently, operating hours vary by location at the 166 state stores. The new state store hours will be:

Monday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Friday – Saturday: 10:00 a.m.

Young Muscians Compete At BOBfest

People in Riverfront Park got serenaded with the sweet sounds of young local bands Saturday. 12 teen bands competed in BOBfest 2011, Battle of the Bands at the Clocktower Meadow.

The competition gives young musicians a chance to perform in public and get critiqued by local judges. This year, Better Than Yesterday took first place. The band is made up students from Ferris High School and Odyssey Middle School. Lewis and Clark students in the band Battlesound got second place.
