A Personal Fit, of Spokane Valley, has expanded to help more persons at once.
Today marks the first day that Amy Brantner's company is operating out of its new, larger North Mullan Road location. A Personal Fit will continue to offer its flagship fitness classes – extreme camp, boot camp, strength & cardio – but will now also host zumba and yoga classes as well as moving Brantner's personal training services from her home's basement.
“People hear about the family environment here and want to give it a shot,” Brantner said. “Our current members make newcomers feel welcome, but still have a way of pushing them.”
Brantner said what sets her business apart is that it has an individualized approach to health.
“You might puke after your first class, but everyone will be here to pick you up,” she said.
A Personal Fit serves clients of all ability-level, age and gender, according to Brantner – although she does admit that about 85 percent of her clients are women because she thinks “they are more drawn to fitness classes.”
Brantner said she can help you “gain muscle, get your blood pressure or cholesterol down, or whatever. Everyone's goals are different, that's the reason for our name.”
The new location's grand opening will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., when there will be free 20-minute samples of four classes: Boot camp will be at 9 a.m., zumba at 10 a.m., extreme camp at 11 a.m., and strength and endurance class will be at noon. There will also be nutritional advice, food and door prizes.
The new location (1300 N Mullan Rd., Suite 1306A) is a short distance from the freeway, which is convenient for Brantner's customers, who she says come from all across the area.
Brantner said that if you sign up for her services that she will get you better results than other punch-card based systems.
“I'm not a gym, you're a person to me: You won't pay a monthly fee and not go,” she said. “You will get results here. It's not about money, it's about helping people.”
