FB Reaction to Officer Conviction | Crime

Reaction to the conviction of Spokane Police Officer Karl Thompson is playing out on Facebook. Thompson's co-worker set up the "We Support Karl Thompson" Facebook page in 2009. And now, there's a page supporting the Zehm family. Posts range from love and support to absolute hate for Karl Thompson.

On the "We Support Karl Thompson" page, one fan wrote "we believe in you and know that you deserve our admiration and respect... this comes from knowing you for years and appreciating the fine officer and man that you are."

But since the conviction yesterday, many people against Thompson and the idea of supporting him have responded with things like "This is as disgusting to most everyone I know as it would be to you folks if we were to support someone who killed a police officer.

And on the "Remember Otto Zehm Page", someone wrote "A big thank you to the jurors in Yakima, finally we have justice."

The posts for and against have been on-going, with people posting negative comments on Thompson's page and the page administrator vowing to take them down as soon as possible.
