Nine Arrested Spokane Valley House Party | Crime
You know your party is out of control when outdoor lighting is provided by a law enforcement helicopter.
That's what happened late Saturday night in the 16100 block of East Broadway in the Spokane Valley. Air 1, the Spokane Sheriff's Department chopper, was hovering over the party scene, helping officers on the ground who were responding to a disturbance call triggered by a house party.
According to a Spokane Valley Police Department news release, when officers arrived at the scene, they were quickly outnumbered by a large number of intoxicated party-goers who were milling around the house and weren't particularly receptive to the officers' orders to go back inside. The officers called for back-up, and eventually, units from all local law enforcement agencies were at the scene.
Most folks eventually cooperated, but two gentlemen, 24 year old Rion Holmes and 22 year old Nicholas Loverro, chose to wander in the middle of Broadway, disrupting traffic, according to Deputy Craig Chamberlin. Both were arrest for Rioting, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
Seven other people were arrested on a variety of charges, including the 25 year old homeowner, Justin Doggett, who was booked into jail for Providing Alcohol to Minors.
