Reminder: Keep valuables out of sight in car | Crime
When attending neighborhood meetings, residents ask visiting law enforcement officers what they can do to prevent crime. The most common answer is always to leave your valuables out of sight in your car to prevent break-ins.
A reminder from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office came out Monday afternoon telling people using the Centennial Trail this summer to leave valuables out of sight when parked at trailheads.
Deputy Jay Bailey checked several parked cars at trailheads in Spokane Valley last week and saw purses, backpacks and electronics in plain sight.
The Sheriff’s Office recommends leaving them in a secured area like a locked trunk.
