An intoxicated male was arrested for residential burglary early Monday morning after he was discovered inside the home of an elderly Spokane Valley woman.
The 88-year-old victim told 911 that she heard noises at her home, near the 1000 block of N. Progress Road, which later stopped. When she got up to grab a glass of water, she found Jeffrey Danielson, 21, inside and standing near the front door.
She screamed for her son who confronted the man and asked him to leave. Danielson told the son, “I am not trying to start anything here,” and left the home. He then ended up in the neighbor’s front yard. That’s where Deputy N. Bohanek and Corporal B. Gilbert found him.
An interview was not conducted on scene because of Danielson’s level of intoxication. After speaking with the victims, Danielson was booked into Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary and a no-bail DUI warrant.
Neither of the victims had ever seen Danielson before.
