Sheriff's Office reports decreased burglaries during summer months | Crime
New statistics from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office show another decrease in the number of Spokane County residential burglaries during the summer months.
Residential burglaries in unincorporated Spokane County decreased by about 8 percent from June to July. Meanwhile, burglaries in Spokane Valley dropped about 27 percent from the first 13 days of July to the same amount of time in August.
A news release cites the Burglary Task Force for the successful decrease adding citizens have been helpful providing information to investigators. Neighbors can continue to help by reporting suspicious people, vehicles and activity in their area.
The task force was implemented earlier this year in April along with increasing patrols to target the issue of property crimes.
