Inland Northwest Honor Flight

Inland Northwest Honor Flight is making it's third trip of 2011 this Friday July 15 at 11:55. Vets will be gathering at the Spokane Airport about 10:30 am...they will return Sunday July 17 at 4:20 in the afternoon. INWHF will be making a special presentation on Friday July 15 to the family of Pvt. Herman Sturmer whose remains were recently returned to Spokane. Inland Northwest Honor Flight continues to honor our living World War II vets for their sacrifices and especially those who paid the ultimate price--giving their lives to protect our freedoms.

The Vision Seekers Youth Art Workshop is this Saturday, July 9 from 8:30am to 3pm at the Jacklin Arts Center.  This event is one of several of the Julyamsh, which is said to be the largest PowWow in the northwest.  The Jackin Arts Center is  pleased to host this interactive arts education retreat for our local youth to experience native American art and culture from internationally known American Indian artists.

Thrift Store Helps Refugees In Spokane

A little know fact about Spokane: the City is home to thousands of refugees from throughout the World, Burma, Napal, Sudan, Rwanda. And thanks to a non-profit organization called Global Neighborhood, these refugees are getting a leg up in their new home.

It's latest effort: a thrift store, dedicated to helping give these refugees jobs, a chance to make money and a chance to gain valuable work experience.

4th of July Sing-A-Long  with The Singing Nuns

The Singing Nuns came into existence back in 1979 when funds were low and bills had to be paid for the private school and convent.  Singing became a way for the the much needed financial support and the Sisters began fitting in practices, appearaces and recordings into their already busy schedules. The singing however, became not only a means of financial support for the convent and school but also became a mission for the Sisters with the singing of hymns and Gregorian chants which was uplifting to the human heart.
