Title (Max 100 Characters)
Our fitness series with KXLY Fitness expert Justin Rundle continues with some fun in the mud. Today we talk about an upcoming event known as much for it's dirt as it is for its fun. The Dirty Dash makes its return to Spokane. Justin tells us why you should participate.
Looking to test your endurance then get up off the couch and get down and dirty? Then try The Dirty Dash! The Dirty Dash and events like it are appealing to the endurance athlete/thrill seeker. The best description of the event comes from the site www.thedirtydash.com.
“Well, welcome to a new kind of race: THE DIRTY DASH. This race puts all other races to shame. The Dirty Dash is a mud run obstacle course where a military boot camp meets your inner five-year-old’s fantasy and subsequently converts boy to man and then man to swine.”
Bring clothes you are willing to toss away after the race, or dress up in your goofiest attire, because the theme of the event is to make fitness as goofy and fun as possible while getting really dirty! The Dirty Dash is June 16th at Riverside State Park Equestrian Area. Registration can be completed on the website.
The Dirty Dash, Warrior Dash and other similar events are growing rapidly. As a fitness professional, I applaud the creative minds behind such races. It’s not always easy, but dreading fitness is counter-intuitive. Find activities you consider fun and will keep you moving for 45 minutes to an hour, six times a week. Then, invite your friends to participate. As a nation, we need to put down the video game or television remote and start enjoying physical activity. Improving ones health starts with exercise and nutrition. In times like these, this is the best investment one can make.
