Spokane Valley Mayor filling planning commission position tonight
News

Mayor Tom Towey is expected to fill a planning commission vacancy at tonight's Spokane Valley city council meeting. Marcia Sands resigned from her planning commission position earlier this year and now it's time to replace her.

There are three applicants vying for the position that will be expected to last until the end of the year.

Here's the description of each applicant from the city:

  • Kevin E. Anderson, a former manufacturing manager with experience in residential design and construction.
  • Fred Beaulac, an operations manager with prior service on Spokane Valley's Planning Commission from the City's incorporation through 2008.
  • Robert McCaslin, a classroom teacher who has volunteered with a number of community organizations.

The new commissioner will work on future growth for the city and make updates to land use plans and regulations.
