Leave the Fawns Alone!

This little girl was brought into SpokAnimal today by some well-meaning folks. SpokAnimal says she was very young and couldn't even support her weight on her legs. Even though she was by herself, it doesn't mean she was alone. Her mother was probably feeding nearby. SpokAnimal will be taking her to Ponti's in Otis Orchards where she will be taken care of.

Adopt A Furry Friend

There's new reason tonight to adopt from SCRAPS Animal Shelter. Not only will a new cat or dog give you the love and companionship of a pet, it's a lot cheaper to bring them home.

SCRAPS is offering $25 off adoption fees every Friday this month. They hope the discount will be enough incentive to get people to adopt a new pet. The shelter is almost at full capacity. They say the only other alternatives are transferring the animals to other shelters or euthanasia.

Adopting a cat will cost you $62.70.

Maybe you're looking for a more natural alarm clock or you need some baby chickens, but if that's the case... A resident of Millwood is giving away a free rooster to a good home. The rooster is one and a half years old. They can live about 15 years. That's the only information it offers. It was posted last night on Craigslist. If a rooster is something you're hoping to add to your home, jump on it.

Here are some photos of Avista removing the beginnings of an osprey nest at the corner of Idaho Road and Wellesley near the Stateline.  They plan to replace the nest with a nesting platform which you can see with the additional images attached to this story.
