Footloose in the Palouse turns your attic finds into eBay treasure

Footloose in the Palouse turns your attic finds into eBay treasure

Do you know what collectibles may be lurking in your attic? A new business in Rockford is here to help you turn those attic finds into cash treasures.

Laurie and Bill Benson opened Footloose in the Palouse, an eBay consignment business in early March, and so far they've been greeted with great enthusiasm.

“Everyday is like Christmas, you never know what's going to walk through the door,” says Laurie adding that they'll sell anything online. The Benson's are working hard to not only sell items on eBay for their clients, but also to educate the community on what has become collectible.

Few things are better than ending the day with a great glass of wine. Except maybe having that wine delivered right to your door. Nectar Tasting Room in Downtown Spokane is making that possible for the Washington wine makers that it features.

Owner Josh Wade started his adventures in wine in 2008 with his wine blog. That blog later grew into the Nectar Tasting Room and features five Washington wine makers. Wade says the purpose of opening the tasting room was to give wine makers outside of Spokane a presence in the area.

The direct buy will run through Nectar's already thriving blog and Wade is hoping to capitalize on the web traffic. He has redesigned the site to make it easier for uses to not only buy wine, but also to read the blog and rent event space.

Cost of living in Spokane remains competitive

Cost of living in Spokane remains competitive

Greater Spokane Incorporated says the Spokane region continues to remain very competitive in the cost of living compared to other cities across the nation.

The ACCRA Cost of Living Index measures regional differences in the cost of consumer goods and services.

They've compiled a table comparing Spokane to other cities around the country. In Washington, Spokane is slightly more expensive than Yakima and Tric-Cities, but cheaper than Seattle.

Swap some tops to freshen up your wardrobe

Swap some tops to freshen up your wardrobe

It's time for a change, ladies! Do you have a bunch of stylish tops you've barely worn? Do you like donating to a good cause? An event coming up will help you with all of the above.

Swank Boutique is holding a “Top Swap”. Here's how it works. Clean out your closet. Bring one to 10 stylish, barely worn (in perfect condition) tops to swap with other Swank customers. It costs you $10 at the door, and you'll leave with the same number of items you brought.

It's happening this Sunday October 14th at Swank (4727 N. Division).

Swank owner, Jody Jones says when swapping begins promptly at 1, it goes very fast.

For the rest of you who'd just like to shop, pop in at 2pm.

Swank will donate all remaining items to Teen Closet (a local charity that clothes kids in need). You can also drop off donations for Teen Closet Sunday, at Swank.
