Traffic investigators responded to a string of five major crashes in Spokane Valley last week, but this one happened right on their door step. A 18-year old woman, Chandra Lamarr of Hayden, Idaho, was leaving the vicinity of the Spokane Valley Police Department by way of a left turn onto Sprague Avenue when she collided with Sgt.

Alaska Airlines announced Thursday that it's adding two new daily flights from Spokane to Seattle and Boise.  The service begins daily starting January 8, 2012.

The announcement comes just days after Southwest Airlines announced it would discontinue its service between Spokane and Seattle starting in January.

Alaska Airlines representatives said they were excited to expand service in the Pacific Northwest.

Before you head out the door in the morning all it takes is one quick call to know if there will be traffic during your commute. This month the City of Spokane Valley launched a new Traffic Info Line. The line will be updated weekly to include delays, contstruction zones, closures and detours.

"Drivers want to know what construction delays and detours to expect," said Mayor Tom Towey. He continued, "The Traffic Info Line gives them another way to get that information so they can plan ahead and find alternative routes or avoid the construction area."
